Jerome "Jerry" Michael O'Leary

Born July 20, 1947, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late James P. and Emma Elizabeth (Hatton) O'Leary and preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie (Clave) O'Leary; sister, Sister Rita O'Leary; and brother, James O'Leary.

Surviving is his daughter, Gina E. Kelly (Michael); son, Matthew P. O'Leary (Amber); 3 granddaughters, Emma O'Leary, Lily Kelly and Hannah O'Leary; brothers Joseph O'Leary, John O'Leary and Raymond O'Leary and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerome, known to friends and family as Jerry, was a graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School and Harrisburg Area Community College. He retired from Pennsylvania Air National Guard as a Master Sergeant, with 37 years of service. He served in the Vietnam War and Operation Enduring Freedom in Qatar.

Jerry was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, West Hanover Lion's Club, Penbrook American Legion Post 730 and the VFW.

Jerry was an enthusiastic traveler recently returning from a bucket list trip to Hawaii. His greatest joy was his granddaughters. Attending their many activities filled him with pride. He would have indulged their every wish if allowed.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 6150 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. A visitation will be from 10:00 AM, Tuesday, until the time of the service in the church.
