Grace M. Martinec

She was born May 26, 1935 in Hazleton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (Bonomo) Gaudio; and preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Larker and Joseph P. Martinec.

Grace was a graduate of Hazleton High School, St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, Hazleton, and received her Bachelor of Nursing from Elizabethtown College.

She was a nurse for the former Polyclinic Hospital, a retired employee from the PA Department of Welfare, and volunteered for the Community General Osteopathic Hospital, and the American Red Cross.

She was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving is her son, Anthony Martinec, and his wife, Janet, of Harrisburg; her 2 daughters, Gina Martinec Fox, and her significant other, Steve Brutzman, of Rocky Mount, NC, and Elizabeth Martinec Elliott, and her husband, Bruce, of Harrisburg; 6 grandchildren, Keri Fox, A.J. Martinec, Augustus Martinec, Andrea Fox, Gavin Elliott and Sarah Grace Elliott; her sister, Patricia Yanuzzi, of Hazleton; her aunt, Anne Marie Bonomo, of Hazleton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg, recitation of the Rosary will be at 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Monday, January 7, 2013 in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 2800 Paxton Church Rd., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
