Born in Harrisburg on January 23, 1922, she was the oldest daughter of the late Jennie and Joseph B. Fox Jr. She was preceded in death by her sister Nancy Crawford and two brothers Joseph B. Fox III and Dr. James M. Fox.
She was a graduate of William Penn High School and went to work for Bell Telephone where she started as a telephone operator and worked her way up the corporate ladder to management.
Gloria enjoyed volunteering at the humane society, and many activities within the Church. While working at Bell Telephone she taught Cha Cha dance lessons to her fellow coworkers. She cared deeply for her many nieces and nephews and was a positive role model to all.
She enjoyed traveling around the world. Some of her favorite places were visiting Greece, France, and England. She loved going to see Broadway shows, operas, and other activities with family and friends. She was known for her fondness of animals and the color purple.
She was a supportive, loving aunt who wanted nothing but the best for her family. She spent much of her time taking care of those she loved.
She is survived by 13 nieces and nephews, many grand nieces and nephews and their children.
Memorial visitation will be Thursday March 30, 2023 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA 17111. A service will be held immediately following. The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude and much appreciation to the nurses and care staff of Grane Hospice for their years of care with Gloria.
