Born November 25, 1938 in Hazleton, he was the son of the late John and Anna (Shinko) Kost Sr.; and was preceded in death by his three sisters, Gerry Kost, Lorraine Held, and Patsy Scallion; brother John "Jack" Kost Jr.; and his aunt, Mary Shinko, who lived with Frank, Gerry, and Anna in Hazleton.
Surviving is his loving wife of 31 years, Renee M. (Egresites) Kost; nieces, Lynne Slusser (Stephen) and Lisa Scallion; nephews, Jim Scallion, John Held, Roger Held, and Tom Held; grand-nephews, John Slusser and Noah Slusser; and other nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Frank was a retired Real Estate Specialist for PennDOT with 38 years of service and a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church in Harrisburg.
He was a graduate of St. Gabriel's High School, Hazelton, and the University of Scranton, where he played center field, lettered in baseball, and served as co-captain his senior year.
Frank played in the 1950 to 1951 Little League World Series in Williamsport. Frank was the youngest player to hit a home run, and this was the only team from Hazelton that ever went to the Little League World Series.
In addition to sports, Frank loved classic cars. He owned a Pontiac GTO and a Chevy Camaro Z/28.
Frank cherished the time spent with his wife, Renee, his family, and his friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, December 16, 2024, at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. The burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be from 10:00 AM Monday until the time of the service at the church.
