A coal miner’s daughter.
Catherine passed away 02/17/2022, and joined her husband of 35 years, Donald Sener.
Born March 28, 1926, she was the daughter of the late William Edgar and Katherine (Reiner) Bowerman; and preceded in death by three brothers, Clair, Mark, and Carl Bowerman. Catherine was born at home and grew-up in Tower City, PA, part of the Anthracite Coal region of Central Pennsylvania.
After high school, she worked at what was then called Harrisburg Steel Company, helping to make bombs to support the war effort. After the war, when the men returned, she went to work as a secretary for the head of the Chemical Department, before marrying him in July 1945.
Catherine traveled the world with her husband; and after his death, with dear friends.
She is survived by three children, Jeffrey Donald (Jacqueline), Donald William and Bruce Henry; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, William and John Bowerman; and sister, Joan Adams.
Catherine was a long-time member of the former 29th Street United Methodist Church; and more recently, a member of Calvary United Methodist Church.
