In loving memory of Marissa Renae Rosas, born November 8, 2004, in Hanford, California to parents Monique Mata Rosas and Jose Rosas. Marissa was a twin. Her loving twin sister, Jazmine Janae Rosas was with her during her final days; her youngest sister Niveah Rosas; her grandparents David Mata, Maria (Terry) Contreras; her Uncle David Mata and many other loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Marissa suffered from child onset epilepsy since approximately 18 months of age. During the last months of 2022 and early 2023, Marissa was hospitalized several times when she went on hospice care. Marissa was surrounded by family and friends through her last weeks and passed on March 22, 2023 at the age of 18 years and 4 months.
Marissa attended school at Shelly Baird in Hanford since Kindergarten. She loved attending regular classes with the school’s wonderful caring teachers and aides that assisted Marissa with her studies and art projects.
Marissa was preceded in death by her mother Monique Mata Rosas; and her maternal grandmother, Irene Renae Mata. She is survived by her loving twin sister, Jazmine Janae Rosas, Hanford; her youngest sister, Niveah Rosas, of Armona, California; grandparents David Mata and Maria Contreras of Hanford; her grandmother Gayle Hess of Pismo Beach, her Uncle David Matthew Mata, Hanford; and many other loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Remembrance Service will be held at People’s Funeral Home at 501 N. Douty, at 10:00 am. Interment services will be held at the Hanford Calvary Cemetery, 10500 S. 10th Avenue, Hanford, California, immediately following.
We invite attendees to a small potluck reception following the graveside services to the Mata residence, 1166 Dominic Way, Hanford, California.
