John was born on September 3, 1957 to Arlene (Camara) and Frank Pereira, and was one of six children. He graduated from Hanford High School and remained in Hanford throughout his adult life. During his life, John enjoyed rebuilding and tinkering with cars and was always there for family and friends when they needed his help. If there was something wrong with any engine, John would figure it out and would rarely charge for his labor or time. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed making people laugh even when life was pretty tough for him. He was someone who was always ready to help and was generous with his time. He enjoyed NASCAR but was a devoted fan of NHRA Top Fuel and attended many events. He also liked to fish with his friends, attend Dodgers baseball games and vacation in Pismo with Karen. The greatest joy in his life was his grandchildren and he loved playing with them at the park. He was a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his children Morghan (Andrew and Aubrey), Mason (Chassidy), Kortni (Brandon, Ayden, Khloe, and Dylan), and Brandi (Chris, McKennah, Madisyn, and Ayvah), and his girlfriend Karen. He is also survived by his sister Alisa (David), and brothers Larry, Manuel, and Michael (Carol), and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held honoring John on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Laton Lions Hall at 11 o’clock a.m.
