Jack Edward McCalmon Jr.

Jack was born at Travis Air Force Base on November 13, 1971 to Jack and Rosean McCalmon, Sr. He was raised and educated in various cities in California and graduated from Morro Bay High School in 1990, where he was active with the Pirate football team as a Corner Back, was a member of the FFA and was a member of the band, playing trumpet. Immediately following graduation, Jack entered the United States Air Force, serving primarily in Montana. Following his discharge he moved to Vacaville, California for a time. He worked for K-Mart for ten years in loss prevention and as the regional manager. Jack attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glenco, Georgia where he trained to become a Correctional Officer. He was assigned to Herlong in Lassen County, California and transferred to Mendota Federal Prison in October 2010. Jack enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing video games, listening to 80’s music and going to flea markets. He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Brittany. Jack was preceded in death by his biological father, Jack in 1998 and his daughter, Brittany on August 28, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Thelma Elizabeth McCalmon; his grandfather, Clarence Apsley; his grandfather, Russell Rawers, and his grandmother Constance Rawers.

Jack leaves to cherish his memory, his two year old daughter, Madelyn Rose Moss of Los Osos, CA; his mother, Rosean Santa Cruz of Lemoore, CA; his dad Scott Rawers of Louisiana; his three sisters, Victoria Tiffany and her daughters, Chelsea, Holly, Heather and Shelby of Vacaville, CA, Mandy Rawers and son, Nathan of Lemoore, CA and Savanna Haney of Iowa and many friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Grace Baptist Church, 946 Daphne Lane in Lemoore, CA.

Remembrances may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
