Dawn played saxophone in elementary school, was a 4-H member which included sewing and escorting farm animals around the local rest homes. She was intelligent and school came easily for her, was a swing flag girl in the Hanford Union High School band and sang in the choir. Dawn’s greatest accomplishments included writing and then also illustrating her own stories. She was loved for her sweet smile and her happy go lucky personality.
Dawn is survived by her mother Sue Coffey (Roy Rosa) of Ventura, CA, her daughters Heidi Coffey, Angel Kohout (Steven) and JoJo Chacon (Seth). Grandchildren: Anabella Lopez Coffey & Aria, Aurora & Clark Kohout. She is also survived by her loving sister Windy Elias of Chowchilla, CA (Nieces/nephews: B.J., Shara, Sarina, John Paul and C.C.) and sister JoDee Turner of Fresno, CA (Nephew/niece: Nathan and Hunter Rose).
A memorial will be held for Dawn at a later date.
During Dawn’s last twenty years she lived with friend and caregiver Sheila Cox and special friend Aaron. There she enjoyed many fun activities and good friendships including Debbie, Peggy, Becky, Anthony & Netti.
We’d like to give a special thanks to the staff of the Sequoia Regional Cancer Center of Visalia where she said they treated her like a queen, as well as the Dr’s and staff of the Hanford Adventist Hospital whom we think are angels on earth.
