Cruz was born in Hanford, CA, on February 14th, 2001. He was such an easy baby to care for and loved wrestling with his dad. From the beginning, his personality lit up a room. At the age of 5 he showed an interest in sports and since the age of 9 he was active in sports. He played football for Hanford Youth and basketball for NJB for five years and would say "Mom I will play 110%".
Cruz attended Hanford West and graduated from Crossroad Charter Academy Class in 2019. Cruz later attended Fresno City College for Auto Body and Paint. This was a hobby that he loved doing and wanted to make a full time career out of it. After graduating in 2022, he got a full time job at Borba's Auto Body Inc. here in Hanford. His co-workers became family and he loved what he did with a passion.
Cruz had an impact on so many lives. He would give everyone stomach aches from them laughing at his jokes. Cruz loved spending time with all his family. Family always came first. He was a big sports fan (every kind of sport), loved music, making everyone laugh, working on cars, and working on his truck project next to his dad. He loved going to Raider games with his mom and brother Neto. It was a tradition that he loved and eventually shared with his sister Jolene and girlfriend Raylene.
Most Sundays were spent at his dad's for family dinners. He was always excited for his Avalos family yearly camping trip. Always enthusiastic, he would always ask, "Where are we going next, what games are we hitting up, we need to do a hockey game and a soccer game". Cruz and Raylene would go on trips together. This past trip was Cruz's first time in Santa Cruz, where he conquered his fear of heights and went on a ferris wheel. He was living life with all his family and friends.
