Charlene Farris, 70 came into this world on June 6, 1943 to Fred & Lula Hubler in Portland, Oregon but raised in Halfway, Oregon with her family. Charlene passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Kaweah Delta Hospital in Visalia, California. She was raised with her sisters and brother; Carol, LaDonna and Ellis Hubler. As a child she enjoyed drawing, which prepared her for her interest in photographing her family once she was married. Charlene graduated from Pine Valley High School; there she was great friends with Karen Luther Pacheco.
On October 31, 1958 at Bishop House in Baker, Oregon, Charlene married the love of her life; Kennith Ray Farris. Together they raised eight beautiful children. During her life she worked in a laundry matt, but mostly she was a wonderful homemaker and devoted to caring for everyone around her. She was a member of the National Genealogy Society.
Charlene will be remembered as a loving wife, who was small in stature, but big in heart. She was a soft spoken loving woman. She had the greatest smile truly meant to welcome you to her presence. She treated everyone like family! She enjoyed taking pictures of her family every chance she got. She could always be seen curling up to a good mystery novel, and making treats for her grandchildren. When she wasn’t reading, she was documenting the family’s legacy. She treasured the opportunity to research the family’s ancestry and create the family’s heritage for future generations. Charlene loved to travel to visit with family and attend family reunions. One of her special family members was her companion; Skippy, her black cocker spaniel. She also liked Persian cats.
Charlene is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years; Kennith Farris of Tulare and her 8 loving children; Kenny Farris of Bakersfield, Kim & husband Gary Harp of Tulare, Tim Farris of Oakhurst, Kaylyn Murch of Tulare, Larry Farris of Orange Cove, Lonny Farris, Kevin Farris & Nick Farris all of Tulare, California. She will never be forgotten by her 17 grandchildren; Jeremy, Meika, Amber, Brook, Shaun, Timmy, Alison, Brittania, Lonny, Marissa, Jacob, Cody, Elrick, Alexis, Sage, Hannah and Arron. She was also cherished by her precious 20 great-grandchildren.
A Private Celebration of Life will be held in the family’s home at a later date with a Private Inurnment to take place at a later date also at Tulare Cemetery in Tulare, California.
