William Louis West

William L. West (Poodle Jack), 72 of Newport News, passed away peacefully on May 16th at home from a brief battle with cancer. He was born February 14,1952 in Sampson County, North Carolina to the late Bill and Lucille West. He leaves to cherish his memory son Ben; brothers and sisters Charles (Marguerite), Fay (Ray), Roy (Janie), Ronnie, Jackie (Cindy), JD and Lytha; and a host of nieces and nephews. He loved his Cowboys and the #20 car, Tony Stewart. He raised and raced homing pigeons. Mr. West also attended Newport News public schools and was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding for many years. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31st with visitation from 12-1 PM, and service from 1-2 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N. Armistead Ave., Hampton, VA 23666
