Nancy Vonda Bookman

Nancy Vonda Bookman, 82, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017. She was a longtime resident of Hampton and a native of Covington, Virginia. She was a loving wife and mother and retired from LAFB Civil Service as a recreation aide where she enjoyed many happy years of service. Nancy is preceded in rest by her husband, Donald Keese Bookman, Sr.; father, Benjamin Phillip Carter; mother, Era Virginia Carter; two brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Vonda Gail Bookman and husband, Daniel Patrick O’Keefe; sons, Donald Keese Bookman, Jr. and Ronald Carter Bookman and wife, Janie; grandchildren, Mathew Dillion Bookman and Kimberly Lynn Bookman; sister, Inez Frye and husband, James E.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, with a graveside service to begin at 2:00 pm at Parklawn Memorial Park.
