Mazie Lee Duelle Benthall Williams

Mazie Lee passed away at home on November 10, 2024, surrounded by family. She was born Mazie Lee Duelle on July 12, 1929, to Jessie & Cora Duelle in Newport News, VA. At the age of five she was adopted by Ernest and Herley Benthall in Phoebus. Preceding her in death are both her biological and adopted parents, three brothers and one sister, three brothers-in-law’s, a grandson, her son Shawn Elliott Williams and her loving husband of 64 years Robert Earl Williams. She was a member of several car clubs, the Ladies of Scottish Rite, Lady Shriners of Va Beach and a member of both Smithfield #127 and Warwick #43 for The Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of Bethany Methodist Church and later in life joined Southside Vineyard Community Church. She is survived by her sons, Robert Earl Williams Jr. and wife Linda, Ernest Ray Williams, William Eric Williams, Ben Elridge Williams, her daughter Brenda Bissette and daughter-in-law Cathy Williams. Grandsons Robbie Williams, Brien Lee, Timothy Williams and wife Sabrina, Kenny Williams, Eric Williams Jr. and granddaughters Michelle Lee Wiseman and husband Scott (great-grandson Dean Wiseman), and Dawn Fintch. Many great-grandchildren and a handful of great-great-grandchildren as well as two sisters, three brothers and many friends and loved ones. In lieu of flowers please give to a charity of your choice in her name. A public visitation for Mazie will be held Monday, November 18, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM and the Celebration of Life will occur directly after at 1:00 PM, at Bethany Methodist Church, 1509 Todds Ln., Hampton, VA. Family and friends will gather in the community hall at the church directly following the funeral. She will be laid to rest Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666, for anyone that would like to attend.
