Mary A. Monteith, 84, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born in Sylva, NC and was a resident of Hampton for over 50 years.
She retired from Coates & Clark and Canon VA.
Mary was preceded in rest by her husband, Clyde E. Monteith; parents, Lenoir & Lula Wilson, nine brothers and three sisters. Mary is survived by children, Tom (Cynthy) Monteith, Gail (Rickey) Shutt and Gwen (George) Cook; grandchildren, Crystal Stocki, Dana West, Gina Cook, Matthew, Nathan and Lindsey Monteith; great granddaughter, Sutton Stocki; her brother, Calvin (Margie) Wilson; and many other relatives and friends.
We are truly blessed to have been given such a strong, loving mother. She is loved and will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends 12:00 to 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held following at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive Ste 102, Norfolk VA 23502.
