Mary Ann Matthews

Mary Ann Matthews, 75, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2016. She was a native of Alexander County, NC and a resident of Hampton for 65 years. Mary was part owner of McCrafts Gallery. She loved her family and garden. Mary was always appreciative of everything and everyone. Mary Ann was preceded in rest by her husband of 35 years, Joseph Matthews, and parents, Dwight C. and Pauline McAlpin. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Jutras of Newport News, John Jutras, Jr. of Gloucester; grandchildren, Angel Chapman of Norfolk, Jason Jutras and John Jutras, III, both of Gloucester; great-grandchildren; Galvin Fitzgerald and Teagan Chapman both of Norfolk; brother, Dwight McAlpin, Jr. of Hampton; sisters, Judy Seymore of Cedar Creek, TX and Virginia Severson of Hampton. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 25, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 2, at Hampton-Veterans Memorial Gardens.
