Lillie Mae “Daisy” Duncan, age 85, went to her heavenly home to be united with her husband and Lord in eternal rest on July 24, 2012. She was Baptist in faith. She was born in Martinsville, VA and lived in the Hampton area for 65 years. She retired from International Transformer Company, she worked at GTE Sylvania for 20 years, a forms company in Hampton, and Maida Development.
She was preceded in rest by her husband, Edward Duncan; her son, Eugene Thomas; her daughter, Barbara Thomas; her parents, Charlie and Nina Brim; and brother, Oscar Brim.
She is survived by her brother, Randolph Brim; daughter-in-law, Freda Thomas; grandchildren, Tammy and Tom Sayers and Willie Thomas; sister-in-law, Opal Brim; nephew, Willard Smith; nephew and niece, Clarence and Vicki Pasley; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Katelyn, Heaven, Kelsey, Kristen, Kelly, Ronnie and Kearra; and family and loving care members, Kevin and Katherine Ayer, Jeff and Josh Ayer, Wanda Brim, Ian and Justine Brim, Debbie and Ed Holmes, Jeremiah Ingle, and Desiree Holmes.
The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 2 at 2:00 p.m. with services being officiated by Pastor Rusty Beck of Parkview Baptist Church.
A memorial gathering luncheon will be held after the services at the home of Kevin and Katherine Ayer in Smithfield.
A special thank you and gratitude goes to her care team at Personal Touch Home Health and Hospice Services, and to her shopping buddies, her nightly phone pals, and her Gearld. She dearly loved each and every one of us.
