Kenneth was a native of Pennsylvania, but he settled in Hampton, where he built his home, family, and career. He worked as an automobile mechanic at shops including Casey Chevrolet, Hampton Chevrolet, and Al’s Auto Repair—finally retiring in 2001 after 40 years of dedicated work.
Retirement allowed him time with his large, loving family, but also with his community organizations. He maintained active membership to the Newport News Moose Lodge, American Legion Post 25, and the Banbury Rod and Gun Club.
Kenneth is predeceased by his parents: Daniel Ewart and Mildred Helmick Ewart; son, Kenny Ewart Jr.; brother, Ronnie Ewart; and two of his sisters: Emogene Riley and Nancy Harberger.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 61 years, Phyllis J. Ewart; sons: Mark Evan Ewart and Craig Martin Ewart; two grandchildren: Trevor Alan Ewart and Ashley Marie Ewart; one great-grandchild, Liam Amadeus Anderson; brothers: Allen Ewart, Ralph Ewart, Dennis Ewart, Jeff Ewart, and Johnny Ewart; and sisters: Carol Osborne, Donna Williams, and Patty Reynolds.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 North Armistead Ave, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
