Joe Wright gave us the greatest gift of all—the power to choose and the honor to serve. It has been a year since our last conversation, yet there isn't a day that passes when your name doesn't come up, woven into the stories we share and the memories we hold dear. Your lessons, once given to me, are now passed on to others, ensuring your legacy lives on in every life you touched. Today, we remember you, Joe, and the lasting impact you had on all of us. Your spirit continues to guide us, and your influence will never fade.

1SG Wright was a giant in his field and will be sorely missed by many. He touched and guided the careers of countless Soldiers at almost every level. You will be missed top, but will never be truly gone from D-Block.

Girl…. I love you so much and can’t even imagine the pain you are going through right now. Please know that I love you very much and im only a phone call away. Love to you, Walt and my little thug. Prayers for all of your family.

My first impressions of Joe were that he was a real hard-a**. But once I got to know him a little at the ASF, I found that he was a good mentor and passionate about doing things right. Pretty much like me. I never really did get to know him very well but I do remember my first major airframe repair which came after a night flight with DJ and CPT Ivanco practicing slope landings, resulting in the lower VHF antenna being punched up into the nose. The repair took me about a week and a half and at the end, Joe took a look at it and said it was a “very good repair”. It meant a lot to hear it from someone but after learning that Joe was a DME for A&P mechanics it meant a lot more coming from him. Even though Joe retired quietly a couple years ago , he and his loud raucous laughter echoing across the hangar will be missed greatly. His no nonsense mannerisms as a 1SG, such as his blank stare as he waited for his directions to sink in and be carried out will be even more missed. Rest easy Joe. The new top has things well in hand.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we learned of the passing of Mr. Joe.  We are deeply saddened of this profound loss, and on behalf of Kindred Community Services, LLC we extend our sincerest condolences to Lina, her brothers, and family during this difficult time.  Mr. Joe wasn't just a client; he became family.  His warm personality and genuine kindness were a joy to be around every day.   We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have known and worked with him.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and we pray you find comfort in the memories you shared with Mr. Joe.

So many memories whether at work at the airfield or during reserve duty Joe was an incredible guy to have around. He made everyday an adventure. You will be missed friend. To his family we pray for your comfort during this difficult time.

Joe Wright was the heart and soul of our unit when we deployed to Kuwait and Iraq.  We all owe Joe a debt of gratitude. Joe took a bunch of young soldiers and gave them the confidence to excel. We all benefited from knowing and working with Joe.  Thank you Joe,

So hard to pick just 1 memory. Joe had 2 animals that came in a care package Lil Joe and his bodyguard Mr. Penguin one day they went missing and a note was left they will trade them for a care package. Later that day we end up at the plywood palace stop in the church for a briefing Joe decides to steal a care package from the church. On his way out he slipped and fell down the stairs I had tears rolling down my face I was laughing so hard. Instant Karma for stealing from the church of all places! Turns out it was only a box of hand sanitizer 😂 I could go on and on with our adventures! Joe is and forever will be my Rock, dear friend, mentor and protector. I am so very sorry for the loss of your mom and dad. I am so heartbroken and I will miss my friend. My heart goes out to all of you Rock Steady! -Meagan Johnson
