He was born October 12, 1955, to Jack and Cora Reasor. His life was guided by love for His Savior, which he learned from his faithful parents. Jerome met Nancy Looney at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church on September 5, 1976, and they were married on July 16, 1977. He continued this tradition with his family as a loving husband and father.
Jerome graduated from Hampton High School in 1974. He entered the Newport News Shipyard in August 1975, where he worked for 42 years. Jerome graduated from the Apprentice School and spent the majority of his career in the Production and Planning Department for submarines, retiring as a Master Shipbuilder.
In October 1982, Jerome was ordained as a deacon at Ivy Memorial Baptist Church. Jerome and his family moved their membership to Bethel Baptist Church in Hampton, where he served as a deacon until 2018. He also served several years as head usher and a teacher for the men’s Sunday School class until his health no longer allowed.
Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Cora Reasor; his brothers, Barry and Roderick Reasor; and his infant daughter, Esther Leigh Reasor. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Nathan Lentfer; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Miguel Gonzalez; son, Logan; and grandchildren, Jake and Brooke.
A visitation for Jerome will be held Monday, August 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church, 1647 Briarfield Rd, Hampton, VA 23669, followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00 AM. An interment to follow the service will occur at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666.
