Helen Louise Baker

Helen was born March 20, 1949 in Augusta County, VA. At an early age she and her family moved to the Hampton Roads area where she remained the majority of her life.

Helen raised her three children and then went to work. She was a van driver and teacher assistant for a Child’s Day Learning Center in Hampton.

In her free time, Helen loved to read, do crafts and play games with friends.

She is survived by her son, George (Eddie) Barker, wife Emily and two daughters Tina Ashley, husband Roger and Tammy Meyer. Seven grandsons, John Barker, Hunter Ashley wife Emily, Nathan Ashley, Jacob Ashley, Cody Ashley wife Hailey, River, wife Bry Barker-Neil and Charlie Meyer. Three granddaughters, Aspen Barker, Madison Ashley and Wynter Supplee. Three great-granddaughters Audrey Doss, Addilyn Ashley, Helen Barker-Neil and one great grandson Nicholas Ashley. Two nieces Allison Tinker and Tanya Austin and nephew Danny Rice.

Helen was proceeded in death by her husband Donald Ray Baker, Jr, her mother, Ruby Jane Allison Barker, her father, John Henry Barker, two sisters Susan Montefusco and Betty Ann Toomey, niece Michelle (PJ) Williams and great nephew Edward John Downing III.

The visitation will be 2pm Wednesday, March 16, 2022 with a Celebration of Life service following at 3pm at Parklawn Wood Funeral Home.
