Glenn William Lovell

Glenn W. Lovell, 62, of Newport News, VA passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Glenn started his career in the lumber yard over 40 years ago at Waterfront Lumber Company and continued that career with Custom Builder Supply for the past 8 years. Glenn was a master in his craft and shared his knowledge with many over the years. Throughout his career he made many forever friends in his co-workers and customers. Glenn gave his life to the Lord in 2002 and soon after that he dove deep into studying the word of God. He served the Lord through the Mission 55 Youth Ministry pouring into the lives of many youths. He had a servant’s heart serving in his church whenever there was a need. Glenn was preceded in death by his father Ronald Lovell, his mother Diane Davenport, his step father Johnny Davenport, mother-in-law Annette Freed, father-in-law Edwin Harper, and nephew Kyle Coppedge Glenn was a devoted husband of 36 years to his wife Shannon Lovell, a loving father to his three daughters Ashley Lovell (Jim), Jessica Lovell (Trey) and Katie Wilson (Donnie) and a proud grandfather “pawpaw” to Eric, Mackenzie, Gabby, Lauryn, Lewey, Harper, Addison, and Maverick. He is also survived by three older siblings Ronnie Lovell, Chris Lovell and Linda Coppedge (Scott), mother-in-law Sharon Harper, brother-in-law Phillip Harper, sister-in-law Kathy McNelly (Tim) and the Esther to his Fred, Donna Springfield (Casey). As well as numerous cousins and host of nieces and nephews, whom he shared lots of great memories with. Glenn, affectionately called “Big Daddy G”, meant the world to his family and friends; he had a smile that would light up any room and a laugh that was contagious. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Services will be held on Friday, September 27th, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Park Lawn Memorial located at 2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23666. The family welcomes Glenn’s loved ones to stay for a reception to immediately follow.
