Earl Holston

Earl Holston, 71, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to everyone. Known for his faithful spirit, kind countenance, and bright smile, Earl was a leader by example and encouraged everyone by his inspirational and steadfast walk with Jesus Christ. Earl was born to Etta Mae (Ross) and the late Matthew Holston, Sr. on October 19, 1947. After graduating from Fairmont High School in 1966, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He met the love of his life, Suk Hui, while stationed at Kunsan Air Base in South Korea, and they married in 1971. Earl retired as a Master Sergeant after twenty-four years of distinguished service. Following his career in the Air Force, Earl joined the U.S. Postal Service where he served until retirement after twenty-two years. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Suk Hui Holston; his two sons, Leonard Holston (Tammy) and Matthew Holston (Veronica); his three daughters, Michelle Holston, Ara Jang and Ahyeon Jang; eight grandchildren (Isaac, Antonio, Noah, Mercedes, Jacob, Mariah, Jeremy and Jonathan); his mother, Etta Mae Ross Holston; three brothers, Ernest Holston (Carolyn), Matthew Holston, Jr. (Patricia) and Edward Ross Holston (Janelle); two sisters, Janice Massac (Arsene) and Joyce McClendon (Charleston); and many close relatives and friends. Friends and family may visit on Monday, April 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home, 2551 N Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 9 at Harbor Baptist Church, 1509 Big Bethel Rd, Hampton, VA, followed by his burial in the Parklawn Memorial Park.
