Donna Lee Murray, 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Donna was born in California, spent many years traveling the world with her U.S. Air Force husband, Norman, and she retired to Gloucester, Virginia in 1980. After retirement, she worked at Walter Reed Convalescent Center.
Donna raised four children living in Okinawa, New Mexico, Florida, England, and Michigan during her husband’s military career. In the early years of their marriage, she was notorious for keeping her new husband out until dawn dancing. She found pleasure in always looking her best; she kept her hair a vibrant red hue and maintained a polished manicure long into retirement. More recently, she could almost always be found with a small dog curled up in her lap. She loved her dogs dearly.
She was preceded in death by her brothers: Ronald and Durrell; her husband, Norman; daughter-in-law, Barbara; and great-granddaughter, Thea.
Donna is survived by her four children: Milan Murray, Warren Murray, Janine Murray, and Lyann Kahlbaum; six grandchildren: Kristi Patterson, Brandon Murray, Heather Tebbenhoff, Amber Murray, Hailey Brandt, and Samantha Murray; four great-grandchildren: Nora, Cameron, Mason, and Lucas.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Parklawn Memorial Park in Hampton, Virginia.
