Diane Marie Haba a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2024, in Garland, Texas surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old. Diane was born in Hampton, Virginia August 4, 1943, to Dee Roy Oakley & Martha Loretta Hodges. She also graduated from Hampton High School in 1962.
She worked as a Civil Servant for the Department of Defense (ALSA Agency) at Langley AFB where she enjoyed over a 30-year career in which she retired from. She spent the majority of her life on the peninsula, residing in Hampton, Virginia. She was also a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
It was at Langley AFB where she met Richard Henry Haba. The two united and were married in 1971. They remained married for 49 years until the time of his Richard’s passing in 2021.
Diane is survived by her sister Debbie McDonald (husband Mike), Brother Ronald Oakley (wife Sam), Brother Murray Oakley (wife Liz) two sons Christopher Haba (wife Nicole) and Daniel Stinson (wife Suzanne). Grandchildren Scott Stinson (wife Clare), Jalen Mavero and Joseph Mavero. Also survived by numerous Cousins and Nephews. Diane is preceded in death by her parents Dee Roy Oakley & Martha Loretta Hodges, husband Richard Haba and brother Joel Oakley.
The family would like to give special thanks to the dedicated and caring staff of New Century Hospice, especially nurse Robin, Counselor Nona, Pastor Kyle and rest of staff for all their wonderful care.
A visitation service will be held at Parklawn-Wood Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be held at Peninsula Memorial Park on Friday, December 20, 2024, at 1:00 P.M.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peninsula SPCA or Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter.
