Carrie Lynn Wooten went to be with our Lord on October 6, 2024. Carrie was born on September 7, 1953, in Greenville, North Carolina and was the youngest daughter of Charles Henry Wooten, Sr. and the late Bettie Louise Gorham Wooten of Washington, DC.
She graduated from The University of the District of Columbia with honors, completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Carrie later worked at the White House in Washington, DC for several years, but then decided to return to school and become a Paralegal for two law firms in Washington, DC. Carrie was a devout member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Arlington, Virginia, and treasured volunteering at the church until she could no longer participate.
Carrie is survived by Dad (Charles Henry Wooten, Sr.), siblings, Gilda Bland Wooten Lynch, Charles Henry Wooten (Myong), and Thennia Grace Wooten Tucker (James III); nephews, Justin Caldwell (June) and James Robert Tucker IV; nieces Erica Parbon, Keira Parbon, Eywa Caldwell and Raya Caldwell; a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and a devoted best friend, Sharon Lewis. The family would also like to thank the staff and friends of Commonwealth Senior Living at Gloucester House and Trinity Hospice for taking care of Carrie during her residence.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 315 Harris Grove Lane, Yorktown, Virginia 23692 on Friday, October 11, 2024, at 11:00. A Rite of Committal will be held at the Homestead Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 200 W 5th Street, Greenville, North Carolina 27858.
The remains will be in repose in the church Columbarium for a period of quiet reflection and prayer beginning at 10:00.
