Betty Lou Bryant – Betty was a true coal miner’s daughter - born in 1932 in In Van Lear, Kentucky, the family lived a few hollers down from Butcher Holler. They moved several times, stopping in Betsy Layne and Mouthcard, Kentucky, before settling in Grundy, Virginia. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William E Bryant of Logan, West Virginia; her parents, Robert and Nancy Farmer, of Grundy, four siblings - Nell, Ernest, Anna and Ethelene, and one grandson, Kevin Bryant of Williamsburg, Virginia. Betty is survived by her two sons – Samuel E Bryant and his wife Vicki of Newport News, Virginia and William L Bryant and his wife Beth, of Wheaton, Illinois; 3 Grandchildren, Kelly Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida and Christopher Bryant and Lauren Bryant, also of Wheaton; three great-grandchildren – Zachary, Dylan, and Lauren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Being married to a military man, her husband was an Air Force Veteran, Betty was able to travel and enjoyed living in California, Michigan, Germany, and especially loved Texas. Betty’s interest were reading, cooking, and quilting and was a member of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Hampton and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Betty was laid to rest in Hampton Memorial Gardens next to her husband of 71 years.
