SSG Arthur H. Kinney, Jr., (U.S. Army Ret.), 85, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2015. He was born Nov. 21, 1929 to the late Arthur Sr. of Canada and Evelyn Robinson of North Monmouth, Maine. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald and sister, Elizabeth.
Arthur and his first wife Jeannie (deceased) had three children, son, Roger Kinney (Cathy) of Myrtle Beach, SC, daughter, Dreama Cluff (John) of Elizabeth, CO, and son, Faryl Kinney of Newport News. He is also survived by his brother, Lester of Chicago.
Arthur entered the Army in 1948, and retired in 1968, after serving in Japan, Vietnam, and Germany. He was employed at DowBadishe and Newport News Shipbuilding. He founded Kinney VW repair in 1982 along with sons, Roger and Faryl and wife, Phyllis. The business had to close due to illness. Phyllis passed away Jan. 27, 2004 and remarried on July 7, 2006 to a lovely lady, Eleanor “Ellie”.
Service will be held privately with military honors.
