Rudolph Joseph Schindler Jr.

Mr. Schindler was born June 21, 1921 in Bangs, Texas to the late Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Joseph Sr. and Lucille Crawford Schindler. He married Gayle Baize in Memphis Tennessee on July 28, 1951. She preceded him in death in 1971.

He faithfully and with great honor served his country in the United States Navy during WWII in the South Pacific Campaign, and later in the Korean War.

Mr. Schindler then worked for the Civil Service from 1956 until 1970. Starting in 1976, he also worked for Bell Aerospace and for BDM Management as an Electronics Technician at Fort Hood until his retirement.

Survivors include his children: John Schindler of Austin, Texas, Joe Schindler and his wife Joan of Benbrook, Texas, and Sara Schindler of Waco, Texas, Grandchildren: Rachel Elizabeth Schindler of Austin, Texas, Ryan, Riley, and Rheann Schindler all of Benbrook, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday January 5, 2011 at 2:00 pm in the Pilgrims Rest cemetery with Father Anthony officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Riley Funeral Home on Tuesday evening on January 4th, 2011.
