WOOD, Sydney Alexandra  "Dee Dee"  "Syd the Kid" Surrounded by her loving family at the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters, Norfolk , Virginia on August 20, 2012, at the tender age of 11, Sydney joined her brother Alex (2000) in Heaven. Cherished daughter of Greg and Sue (nee Gilmour). Much loved sister and best friends of Mallory and Kamryn. Adored granddaughter of Evelyn Wood (Colin Reed) and Marianne Gilmour. She will be sadly missed by her aunts and uncles. Treasured cousin and friend of Paige, Natalie, Danielle, Brennan, Kaede, Eliana and Izze. Heartfelt thanks to  Charlie. You were much more than Sydney 's coach. Your kindness and friendship goes beyond words. Sydney was a girl who was loved by many and will be remembered forever by her extended family and friends. Visitation will be held at CRESMOUNT FUNERAL HOME, 322 Fennell Avenue East on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Sydney's Life will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at West Highland Baptist Church ( 1605 Garth Street ). Greg and Sue ask that if you played on a sports team to wear your jersey in Sydney 's memory. Interment at Mount Hamilton Cemetery . If desired, donations to the Children's Hospital in Norfolk , Virginia or McMaster Children's Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
