Sam Alfano

Peacefully passed away at St Josephs Hospital on September 1, 2014 in his 101st year. Reunited in heaven with his parents Joseph and Maria (nee Barone), five brothers and one sister. Devoted husband of Susan celebrating 77 years of marriage. Loving father of Marcia Ferroni (Ray), Robert (Irene). Cherished grandfather of Steve (Maureen), Anthony (Michelle), Mark (Terra) and great grandfather of Jake, Sam, Julia and Michael. Sam will forever live on in the hearts of his nieces, nephews extended family and friends. A dedicated and hard working man, Sam or Mr Shoe Man was the proprietor of Tot and Teen Bootery on Ottawa Street for more than 50 years. Distinguished 4th Degree with the Knights of Columbus, a founding member of the Italo Canadian Club and a Long time and Honourary Member of Glendale Golf and Country Club joining in 1960. Family and friends are welcome to visitation at the MARKEY DERMODY FUNERAL HOME 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday from 6-9pm. Vigil Prayers on Thursday at 8:30pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St Luke’s Church 200 Mt Albion Rd (at Albright) on Friday September 5, 2014 at 10am. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity close to your own heart would be greatly appreciated.
