Dog-father to Ditto. Loving brother to Nancee, Jerilynn, and Jennifer (Randy). Brother-in-Law to Sue Tangi and Allan Ross. Uncle Rob to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his dad, Gerry, and his mother, Marion. Also survived by many longtime friends in Hamilton and beyond.
Born June 28, 1953 in Hamilton, Ontario, Rob was a gifted multi-sport athlete in hockey, baseball, weightlifting, and football at Sherwood High School. He attended training camp for the St. Louis Blues of the NHL in 1974 as a goaltender. Soon after, he enlisted in the Armed Forces and was stationed in London, Ontario. He returned to the Hamilton area, starting a family with the love of his life, Ann. He worked for many years in Sales at Stelco before moving to Samuel Steel until his retirement in 2019. Rob loved sports and coached many baseball and hockey teams over the years. He was an avid golfer, excelling at the sport since childhood, and was a longtime member at Glendale Golf and Country Club. Since retirement, he played almost daily and loved teeing it up with his three sons. Recently, he adored seeing his grandchildren starting to take to the game. His fervent, competitive spirit and sense of humour will be missed dearly by his playing buddies and all who knew him. His sons will forever desperately miss his sporting companionship and unconditional support.
