Happy birthday grandpa love and miss you always 💙

i miss you so much, thinking about you always

I love so many things about you and have so many great memories of our times together that it really is hard to pick out just one.
I loved the fact that when Shannon and I were younger we always knew that we would be having a fantastic Sunday meal and great laughs with the Grandparents we adored so much.
I remember the warm Summer days when we would play lawn darts in the backyard and I would show you how I could do 100 cartwheels in a row and you would pretend to be very interested lol.
I remember our common fondness for Marilyn Monroe and how Grandma did not share that fondness lol.
Mostly I just remember your love,your smile, the glint in your eye, how you called me your pet,pussycat, your girlfriend(i see you had more than one of those i'm not surprised lol).
 I am going to miss this superhero man I looked up to so much. I wish Zach and Jake had known you longer so they would surely grow into the most wonderful, caring, strong men I do have a feeling that they will because you instilled that into my Dad, their PaPa.
 I wish Lena could have met you more then once, to remember you, to know how amazing you were Poppy you truly were.
 I will miss you so much. I Love You.

Grandpa <3
Never will I forget all the good times we've shared. Growing up with you and Meme my whole life has been nothing but a delight. You'd always put me before you, to make sure that I was okay. And if I was upset, you'd do anything in your power to cheer me up. I looked up to you in so many different ways, I was your shadow, following you around everywhere. Whether it was helping you fix things around the house, gardening, watching TV, playing poker, or listening to Frank Sinatra. You weren't just my grandpa, you were my best friend. I could always count on you for advise, a shoulder to cry on, or even to help me with the little things, like opening up pickle jar. My favourite memories of us are: building snowmen in the backyard, dancing in the kitchen, our picnics to albion falls, the pony rides on Skeeter, and the pony rides when you were the pony, and id sit on your back and pull your hair. You were the best grandfather a girl could ever ask for.

To Poppy,
I'll remember the times that I sat on your knee,
In the kitchen, or in the backyard under the trees
Playing lawn darts, telling jokes, swinging on the gate,
Staying up till it was getting very late.

I smile when I think of the time that we shared,
Like spinning in your chair whenever we cared.
Playing cards and fearing that moment of dread,
When mom would say we have to go it's time for bed.

It makes me happy that my kids had a chance to see
How loving and fun, how giving you could be.
My children will hear all of our funny stories,
They'll always know you loved them and Laurie's

I remember a man who could stir up the pot,
To see what would happen, and sometimes not.
Who was funny and kind, there is no copy,
You were amazing and always the best Poppy. 

I'll always giggle and smile when I think
Of the jokes you would tell, and then wink.
I'll remember your laughing, twinkling eyes,
Your smile, your laugh, your hugs, our goodbyes.
