Born to her loving parents, Violet May (nee Law) and Ralph Edward “Ted” Chesney, in Bowmanville, Ontario December 10, 1927. She attended Tweedsmuir, Central Collegiate, and the special course at Commercial High, which led to 40 years at Stelco. As a founding member of Hamilton Theater Inc., she had roles in several of their early productions. Over many years, she was Contralto Soloist at Wesley United, First United, First Church Christ Scientist, and First Pilgrim Untied. Her church membership started at Central United, went on to First United and then McNab Street Presbyterian, where she also sang in their choir of the Duet Club, she served a term as President and was also in their Women’s Chorus for several years.
Longtime friendship of the Jaggard family and Wilma Walsh has been very much appreciated and valued. Fondly remembered by cousins Joan and John Chesney, and Ileen Nelson.
A Graveside Service will be held at White Chapel Cemetery (section: Garden of Apostles), 1895 Main Street West, Hamilton, on Friday, July 15th, 2022 at 10:30am.
