Joseph Nelson Glassco

After a wonderful 92 years and a great game of bridge, Joe decided to play his last hand on March 13, 2016. Beloved husband of Margaret for 55 years. Devoted father of Jane Glassco (Graham Hills), Cathy Roberto (Phil), Nancy Donohue (Dan) and Mary Jo Sinclair (Roger). Cherished grandpa/papa of Carley, Brittany, Luke, Nicholas, Chloe, Jeffrey, Spencer and Charles. Joe will be sadly missed by Christine Les and her family. He was a visionary and an extremely hard working individual. He had many great accomplishments including his Queen’s Engineering degree (class of 1949), turning his fruit farm into Country Club Drive (The Family Commune) and his mastery at several sports including golf, curling and skiing. His other passions included playing the stock market, bridge and extensive travel. He gave us the gift of education, and taught us importance of hard work, family and health. We were so lucky to have him as our patriarch. Special thanks to the staff at Hamilton General Hospital (7 South) for their tremendous care. Please join us in celebrating his life: Visitation at Markey Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Thursday from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm with Vigil Prayers at 3:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Roman Catholic Church, 200 Mount Albion Road, on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10:30 am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
