After a life fully lived, Jean passed away peacefully July 18, 2022 in her 101st year. A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Jean is survived by her loving family.
Loved sister of The Venerable Fred Peirce and of the late Betty Mielko and Robert Peirce. Dearest mother of Eric (Sandie) and Frances Blaney (Byron). Dearest grandmother of Anita Blaney and Alisha Hewitt (John) and loved nana of Michael and David (Jamila) Shepherd. Much loved great grandmother to seven: Landon, Christina (Yassine), Porsha (Joel), Jacob, Amber (Luke), Jack and Adam.
Jean retired from Norton Canada Inc. She remained a faithful member and former choir member of the Church of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, Hamilton.
She supported many charitable organizations, in particular the Lung Association and the Anglican Business and Professional Women’s Association.
Jean was a proud C.W.A.C. veteran of WWII. The family appreciates the assistance from Veterans Affairs Canada.
Special thanks go also to the extraordinary staff of Wentworth Lodge whose care, support and kindness meant a great deal to Jean and her family.
Mom, grandma, nana, Jean was a great joy and support to all of her family and she will be sadly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at the MARLATT FUNERAL HOME, 615 Main St. E., on Friday July 22nd at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Organ Fund, St. John’s Anglican Church or to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be made at www.marlattfhhamilton.com
