Janet was a very kind, warm and caring lady. To the Steps Dance Studio, she was the unofficial"greeter" who always had a friendly smile and a warm hello. She genuinely cared about people and was fiercely proud of her family. She made her mark on many and will be missed. May she rest in peace and her memory be a blessing.

I was blessed to meet Janet when we went to New Orleans then on a dance cruise. She was a lovely, sweet, vibrant lady who loved to dance. I'll miss her beautiful smile and laugh. I know she'll be sadly missed by her adoring family. Rest in peace sweet Janet💕🙏💕🙏

To Fran, Melanie, Wes, Jimmy and the entire extended McKechnie family - I am holding you all in my heart as you navigate through this exceptionally difficult time. 

It’s hard to imagine a world without Janet! She touched so many lives, and supported and loved so many different people throughout her life. She was one of a kind and dearly loved by everyone who knew her. I cherish the years of memories I was lucky enough to create with Janet through our STEPS family and beyond. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders in life, always supporting me unconditionally. She also was a dear friend to my Mom, and was a huge supporter of my living liver donation to Ms. Michelle in 2019. I will love and miss her always.  Sending strength and sincerest condolences.

I'm eternally grateful to have been graced by Janet's presence. Walking into the dance studio and seeing her smile could brighten anyone's mood, she loved us and supported us like we were her own grandchildren. I'll never forget my last dance recital at steps, I walked out of the change room in tears, upset to be closing that chapter of my life. Janet saw me in the hallway and came and wrapped her arms around me. She told me she was sad to see me go but to hold on to everything I learned and ensured me she knew that I would go on to do amazing things. This was who she was. The most kind, caring, thoughtful and encouraging soul, always willing to be anyone and everyone's biggest cheerleader. You will be missed dearly Janet, but your STEPS family will love you forever and your memory will live on through our dancing.❤️

A true lady in every sense of the word. Thinking of Fran and family.

My aunt Janet loved life and celebrating every moment of it.  Fun loving, generous, thoughtful, and welcoming! I hold dear the few times and memories we shared over these final years. I believe she has passed through the veil of this life and is now with all the beloved who have gone before her.  I hear her God saying, “well done pet.  She is a new star in heaven.
