Ivan Blazanin

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not meant to be, so He put His loving arms around you and whispered, Ivan come to Me. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ivan Blazanin at the age of 84, with his loving and devoted family by his side on December 9, 2017. Dearly beloved husband of Maria for 58 years. Cherished Tata of Annie (David) and John (Leah). Dearly loved Deda of Sydney, Alexander, Sara and Andrew. Lovingly remembered by brother Mika (Luce) and by his niece Katica Petranovic (Branko) and family. Predeceased by brothers Marko and Milan and sister Ruza of Brinje, Croatia. Will always be remembered by nieces, nephews, family and friends in Canada, the United States and Croatia. Ivan’s family would like to thank the staff at Ridgeview for their years of kindness and compassion. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Tuesday from 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm with Rosary at 7:15 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Croatian Church, 1883 King Street East, on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 9:30 am. followed by interment at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery (681 Mud Street E, Stoney Creek). In Ivan’s memory, the family would appreciate donations to the Alzheimer Foundation.
