Beloved partner of Anita Potter and pre-deceased by Joyce, his wife of 52 years. Loving father of Rick, Sue and partner Julie, and Ken and his wife Josie. Proud grandfather of Ava Lynn, Lindy Sue, Bella, Morgan, Kayla, Santo, and Amanda. Great-grandfather of Emme-Rose, River and Miyabi. Cherished brother of the late Edwin Carlstrom. Loving brother-in-law of Grace McAdam, John Campanella, Diane Campanella, Carol and George Pakreslis. Erik will be fondly remembered by those he loved and mentored along the way including the Campanella family, Anita's family, especially Sandy, Brad, Courtney and Andy, Cody and Roshani, his loved ones in Sweden and many friends. His motto was "staying connected." Deeply connected to his Swedish roots, an avid golfer and fisherman, he loved to put his toes in the sand at Sauble Beach and his many trips south with Anita. Erik had an incredible memory that allowed him to share stories about his family history, fond memories and life experiences. Erik was a CPA and was very proud of his work with many companies, helping them through difficult transitions, also a successful entrepreneur running Hamilton Aluminum, Carlstrom and Associates and other ventures. Our Dad was an honourable, beautiful person and will be dearly missed. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Gathering at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 11-2 pm. Donations in Erik's memory may be made to the Juravinski Cancer Centre in thanks for their loving care.
