She was born to Alma and Nicholas Moos on May 6, 1929, in Breslau, Ontario. In later years, she joked about enjoying her 90th birthday which she reached plus 20 days. Betty was always in good spirits, she laughed a lot, enjoyed life, her family, her extended family, her many friends and her church. She was a staunch, charter member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Hamilton and was proud to have sung in the Niagara Lutheran Choir. In her younger years, Betty had the travel bug and enjoyed travelling to Europe, Hawaii, throughout western Canada and the U.S. She spent her working career as a bookkeeper for Wright’s City Laundry. If you knew Betty, you loved Betty.
Betty will be very missed by her brother Marvin (Patricia – deceased), sister June McCleary (Ken), much loved nieces and nephews Anne Louise Paquette (David), Richard Moos (Patti), Paul Moos (Michael), Jennifer Leblanc (Mitch), Michael McCleary (Sarah) and a host of extended family.
Cremation has already taken place. According to Betty’s wishes, there will be no visitation but there will be a memorial service at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1054 Upper Sherman Avenue on Tuesday, June 4 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Hamilton Cemetery, Hamilton.
Special thanks to the many doctors and nurses who attended Betty and especially the staff at Wentworth Heights Retirement Home for their compassionate care, patience and love towards Betty. In Betty’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
John11, 25-26: Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; And whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”
