It was with very deep sorrow that we learned of the sudden passing of our wonderful and very dear Aunt Dorothy.  Although great distances kept us apart over the years, she was never far from our thoughts.  She was always an inspiration to me - even as a child.  It was my Aunt Dorothy who bought me my first two-wheeled bicycle when I was about 9 or 10 years old and we lived on Tisdale Street in Hamilton.  I still recall her being there with my mom - Pearl Kelly (Irvine) to proudly present it to me, that broad smile on her face, and to watch with pride as I took my first unfamiliar rides. She made sure that it had a strong "carrier", which then allowed me to get a newspaper route, and later to deliver groceries for nearby stores. 
Almost 60 years have passed since that wonderful day, and the memories of her doing that are still very vivid.  I have been fortunate to add many more over the years.  I have always been grateful for her unselfish love and warm generosity, not only for the bicycle as a child, but for her personal interest and caring through the ensuing years.
As proud members of the Irvine family, we can all take great pride in the wonderful legacy left to us by your mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, and my Aunt Dorothy Irvine.  May she rest in peace, free of pain, with Uncle "Lefty" at her side.  We will never forget her.  Love always, Kenneth and Patricia Kelly

Mom was such a lady. Mom taught me grace, manors and what to do for every occasion.  Mom gave me all she had to give. Mom did her best for me, her love for me was beyond measure. Mom loved the simple things,  the flowers in the spring, a good cup of tea with a sweet of some kind. You know, now when I think of her I will think of her just that way, sipping a good cup of tea and enjoying a cookie.  Mom could take down a set of drapes and make a beautiful gown for me.  Mom did that kind of thing all the time, she knew how to make the best of what she had to work with. Mom did so much and enjoyed life.  You could see that in her pictures she painted.  I only wish I had half the talent that she had.
Life became tiring to her,  her body let her down oh so Long ago. Mom needed to go home for a while now.  God placed Mom with the labells [my sister Susan, Ray and James] where she could enjoy Life again. Always have a cup of tea and enjoy all the good cooking, [much like Mom did for every one ] the garden in the spring.  Mom was happy their, happier than she has been in years. 
The only thing left that she wanted, finally,  God came and took her home,  the best way.[in her sleep]
I am so happy that she is with Dad and our Lord Jesus Christ.
I give the Glory to God, I am at peace knowing she is at rest. So deserved, earned with her life lived to the fullest.
Good night Mom, I will see you in my dreams, in every member of the family and later in Heaven , Mom and Dad.  Rest well, you did your very best.  Love Betsy as she some time called me.

Dot and I didn't always see eye to eye.  She knew how to relate her feelings and stood by what she said.  I Loved her so much and in so many ways. We became friends not just Mother-in-law Son-in-law.
God Bless her and take her into the Heaven to be with her mate. Thanks for giving me my wife, Your first Daughter.
Thank you for everything you gave and all your fight for life was so dear.  I will think of you often Dot.

How to say goodbye? Well you don't...you say see you later. My Grandmother or Grandma as I call her(not so very different to most) had no ordinary way with people she knew how to speak and how to make her way known in just the way only Grandma can. I learned "how to have grace and dignity" from Grandma. Also, "how to live"! I can only be as luckey as to live such a life... You go Grandma!! We shall chat again. I love you and we all love you. Rest in peace..although I don't think you can stop dancing.:-)

Love Ray and Susan

It was the unexpected "little things"she did in her own way, that I learned how special a mother can be. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you most.  We will keep you in my heart forever...Love you and miss you xoxox Gwen and Dave

Thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Irvine family, as they gather to reflect upon and celebrate the life of their mother, grand mother and great-grand mother.

Dear Gwen and family, my heart goes out to you.  May God give you the courage to get through this most difficult time.  I will keep your Mom and all of her family in my prayers.
