It is with heartfelt sadness that the family of Dolores Thompson (nee Dell) announce that she has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour on September 15, 2024. Born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, she passed away peacefully at St Peters Residence at Chedoke in Hamilton, at the age of 91 with family by her side. She is survived by her loving children - Robert Beattie, Julie Beattie (Clyde Kearley), Colleen (Frank) Jakob also precious grandchildren - Natalie Grey, Derek (Kaylee) Beattie, Jason Jakob, Jeremy (Sarah) Jakob and great-grandchildren Kyla and Evelyn Beattie, Adelaide and Elizabeth Jakob. Beloved aunt of Joanne (the late Pete) Heffernan, Larry Staresinic, Cathie (Ernie) Martin. She will be missed by other family members and friends.
Over the years Dolores worked in Niagara Falls at Kimberly Clark, Chef Boyardee, Carborundum, then in Hamilton with Hamilton Housing and Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board. Dolores donated her time and talents towards various charities and those in need.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents John and Dorothy (nee Garner) Dell, baby son Timmy Beattie, former husband William “Bill” Robert Beattie, brother-in-law Steve Staresinic, husband Phillip “Chuck” Charles Thompson, half-brother Earl Honadle, and sister-in-law Dorothy Staresinic (nee Beattie).
A service of life has taken place on Oct. 23 at Cresmount Funeral Home in Hamilton. Internment to take place at a later date at Lundy’s Lane Cemetery, Niagara Falls, Ontario. As an expression of sympathy, those who wish may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society, Arthritis Society, Diabetes Association or Canadian Cancer Society.
