Claire Grant

Born December 27, 1925, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on November 29, 2016 in her 91st year. Loving wife of 67 years of the late Donald Grant. Claire was a devoted mother to her 11 children Susanne Grant, Don Grant (Margaret), Doug Grant (Sonya), Linda DeMarchi (Bryan), Jim Grant (Barbara), Gord Grant (Jacqueline), Larry Grant (Anna), Marie Foxcroft (Ron), Theresa Grant (Andy Mullins), Bill Grant (Jacqueline), and Elizabeth Grant-Stipsits (Steve Stipsits). Claire was a loving grandmother to her 25 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is survived by her brother, Eddie Farr and wife, Betty and sister-in -law, Anna Farr. Daughter of the late Claire and Edwin Farr, daughter-in-law of the late Adrian and Adelaide Grant and sister of the late Dave Farr. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League. Claire was a friend to all, the most kind and giving soul devoted to helping others. She will be forever remembered by all who knew her. Special thanks to the General Hospital Stroke Unit. Visitation at the MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth), on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayer Vigil at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene’s Roman Catholic Church, 232 Queenston Road at Parkdale on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
