Proud father of Grant. Survived by his brothers Brad and Bryant. Predeceased by his parents George (2017) and Mary (2011) and infant sister Mary (1958). Brother-in-law of Bob (Alice). Loving Uncle of Cameron (Erin) and Kayla. Great-Uncle of Aerie, Harper, Henry, and Tessa. Also survived by many cousins and great friends in Canada, the U.S.A. and Scotland. Bruce was a proud employee of the SPCA as an Animal Care Attendant from 1977-2002 when he transitioned to the City of Hamilton Animal Services from 2003 - 2021 where he made many lifelong friends. A special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, the staff at Rexall on Parkdale as well as the team at Bayshore Healthcare.
Bruce’s family will receive friends at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. and Monday, January 3, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Ronald McDonald House, McMaster Children’s Hospital or the S.P.C.A. would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
