Berardino Di Nardo

Passed away peacefully with his family by his side on October 19, 2013, at the Juravinski Hospital in his 87th year. Cherished husband of Iole (Di Carlo) for 52 years. Loved father of Anita (Louie) Di Loreto, Enio (Lisa) and Dina . Beloved grandfather of Linda (Jonathan), Kayla, Lucas, Calista and Nathan. Predeceased by parents Angeladea and Nicola. Cherished son-in-law of the late Berardino and Ida Di Carlo. Dear brother of Lorenzo of Italy. Predeceased by Filomena (Vincenzo), Diomira (Giovanni), Secodina, Gabriele (Luigina), Natale (Rina). Dear brother-in-law to the late Mimma ( late Gesualdo), Divinangelo (Italia), Adriana (late Luigi), Armida (Giovanni), Guerrino (Irene) and Alfonso (Gemma). Much loved by nieces and nephews Maria (Enzo), Angela and Nick and many more in Canada and Italy. Special thanks to the Bayshore staff, especially Leonida, Elizabeth, Myra, doctors and staff on E4 at Juravinski Hospital, Uncle Gerry and Aunt Irene. Bernie was a retired employee of Laurel Steel after 27 years of loyal service. The greatest joy of his life was the family he and Iole created together. He took delight in the accomplishments of his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first great grandchild. He will always be remembered by his wife, children and grandchildren for the trips to the cottage and especially the many walks to Gage Park where many fun times were had and memories were made that will last a lifetime in our hearts. He will be deeply missed and always loved. Visitation at MARKEY-DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 1774 King Street East (at Kenilworth) on Monday from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-9pm with Rosary at 8:30pm on Tuesday. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 20 Idlewood Avenue on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 11:30am. Entombment Our Lady of Victory Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In kindness, donations to the Alzheimers Society would be sincerely appreciated by the family.
