Audrey Jeanne Simpson

Audrey Simpson (née McKenzie) passed away peacefully on August 29, 2024, at the age of 93 in Hamilton, Ontario. Born in Goderich, Ontario, Audrey dedicated many years of service to Eaton's, where she was a respected and valued employee.

Audrey is survived by her loving children, Rob Gardiner (Ruth), Sandra Robson-Black (Terence), Tom Gardiner (Thao), and Valerie Bonotti (Larry Lovelady). She was a cherished grandmother to Jimi, Amanda, Matt, Dan, Scott, Brittany, Evan, and Nancy, and adored by her 15 great-grandchildren. Audrey was a loved Aunt to Margaret Mader and Sue Banks. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Simpson; her ex-husband, George Gardiner; her parents, Edna and George McKenzie; and her brother, Mac McKenzie.

Audrey’s home was always a haven of warmth and laughter, especially during the cherished gatherings in her backyard, where she loved to host her family. Her famous Maple Birthday Cakes and her legendary Christmas “Nuts and Bolts” were more then just treats; they were symbols of her love, given to family and friends near and far.

The family will receive friends at Cresmount Funeral Home 322 Fennell Ave E. in Hamilton, Ontario (905-387-2111) on Friday, September 6, 2024 at 10:00 am with a Celebration of Life to follow in the chapel at 11am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Audrey can be made to Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice or the Hamilton SPCA.
