Beloved wife of Pedro, for just a month shy of 25 years. Loving mother of Nicole and fur-mama of Luna. Dear sister of Nelia (Augusto), Lucia (Nelson), Rosa (the late Verjinio) and Manuela (Carlos), all of Portugal. Cherished daughter of Maria Rosa and the late Manuel. Ana will be truly missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins, all within Canada and Portugal.
Ana was known to be a ray of sunshine. She loved swimming, all kinds of flowers (especially peonies!), butterflies, listening to music, dancing and attending family gatherings. Family was the most important to her, as well as her cherished dog that she leaves behind, Luna. Ana was such a hard worker, who spoke her mind, stood strong and tall in what she believed in.
Her recent struggle with cancer didn't stop her fight for life. She pushed through until the very end, making sure all of her loved ones were okay and taken care of, especially her beloved Pedro and Nicole.
A beautiful soul, through and through.
A private service will be held at Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street, East, Hamilton. Interment to take place at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Cemetery, Stoney Creek. If so desired, memorial donations to the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
