William D. Sandlin age 79, of Hamilton died Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Westover Retirement Community. He was born in Hamilton on September 9, 1934, the son of William and Barbara (Eleton) Sandlin. He was a graduate of Hamilton High School, Miami University and a veteran of the U. S. Air Force. He married Betty R. Ashlock on May 17, 1957 in Amarillo, Texas and she preceded him in death on February 6, 2013. He was employed at Champion International Papers for 47 years, retiring in 2000 as a manager. Bill was a member of West Side Church of Christ where he was a former Elder and Sunday School teacher. He was a member of Washington Lodge #17, F & AM, the Mensa Society and had done extensive volunteer work for MADD. He is survived by his son, Douglas W. Sandlin, Hamilton a niece, Gloria (Michael) Faber and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his brothers, Elbert and Robert Sandlin and his sister, Bessie Sult.
