Collett, Terry Wayne age 73, passed quietly on July 7, 2024, at Hospice of Hamilton. He was born on March 23, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Asher Collett Sr., and Billie Jean (Stewart) Collett. Terry graduated from Fairfield Senior High School in 1969. Shortly after graduation, Terry was employed as a railroad conductor by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad in Hamilton, Ohio. He worked as a railroad conductor and as a locomotive remote-control operator for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, which later transitioned to The Chessie System in 1987. The Chessie System ultimately came under control of CSX Transportation, Inc. Terry was also elected as a union local chairman for the United Transportation Union, where he faithfully served union members for many years. He retired from CSX Transportation in 2011 after forty-two years of service. In 1984, Terry married Mary Short in Hamilton, Ohio. Terry and Mary were married for nearly forty years at the time of his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Phillip Collett, and his former wife, Beverly Johnson.
Terry is survived by two sons, Wayne Collett and Timothy Collett (Felicia) from a previous marriage to Beverly Johnson. He is also survived by his stepson, Clay Crowe; brother, Asher Collett Jr. (Jean); sister, Jewel Hensley (Frank); brother, Dennis Collett (Pam); seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
