Pete Stewart, age 85 of Trenton, passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at Mercy Hospital Fairfield. He was born on October 11, 1935 in Hamilton, the son of the late Jessie (Lacey) Stewart. On August 16, 1957 in New Miami, Pete married his wife of over 64 years, Shirley (O’Dell) Stewart. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a past Worshipful Master of the Hugh L. Bates. Lodge No. 686 F&AM, and had worked as a Public Works Employee for the City of Hamilton for 34 years. Pete is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Carla (Rex) Jenkins; grandson, Logan Jenkins; step-granddaughter, Jamie Jenkins; step-great-granddaughter, Makiyah Jenkins; brothers, John Stewart and George Stewart; and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother; cherished father-figure, Frank Hundley; and sisters, Betsy Stewart and Dorothy Lunsford. A Visitation will be held from 6pm until 8pm on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Webb Noonan Kidd Funeral Home, Ross Avenue at South “D” Street, Hamilton. A Funeral Service will begin at 11am on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the funeral home with Pastor Lamar Ferrell officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
